The Lunar New Year is based on the lunar and lunisolar calendars, which are widely popular in Asian countries. The holiday varies each year depending on the moon's cycles. The celebrations typically begin with the first new moon and span the first 15 days of the first month of the lunar calendar until the full moon arrives.
The Shengxiao, or Chinese zodiac, is a 12-year cycle in which each year is assigned one animal and one of the 5 elements - metal, wood, water, fire, and earth. That means that each of the elemental+animal signs follows a 60-year cycle. 2025 is the Year of the Wood Snake and begins January 29, 2025, thru February 16, 2026. The last Year of the Wood Snake was in 1965, representing both a pivotal and tumultuous time, here in America and across the world. In Chinese culture, the snake symbolizes wisdom and adaptability, while Wood stands for growth, flexibility and tolerance.

Our Wood Snake bar loosely echoes a snake skin pattern with shifting patterns of red, black, and yellow...a Wood Snake's lucky colors, of course! You can even make out the figure of a snake's gaping jaws in the patterns on some bars! Year of the Wood Snake is scented in an intricate fusion of woody and floral notes, accented by a whisper of woodsmoke. Airy ozone notes open up to sun-warmed fig, geranium, and leafy greenery, radiating a lush green quality that is balanced by nuanced notes of earthy patchouli and warm woods, accented by a whisper of charred embers. Truly unique!
