The connection between witches and their familiar runs deep. In European folklore, familiars were thought to be supernatural entities that would assist the witches in their practice of magick. Familiars are known to serve as spiritual guides who have taken the form of an animal, often a beloved pet, and are loyal guardians and protectors to witches. These familiars are psychically connected and can telepathically communicate with their person in times of need. Familiars are also healers in their own ways. I happen to know plenty of healers that have Reiki cats!
While virtually any animal can serve as a familiar, cats seem to be particularly suited for the job. Given that cats have been revered as sacred and powerful since antiquity (hello Sphinx!), their connection to witches is a natural one.
So remember next time you're playing with Fluffy that you are connecting with a sacred creature possibly possessing supernatural powers. 🖤

Witch's Familiar Artisan Botanical Soap
Handmade soaps need to breathe! We recommend storing your soap on a slatted or free draining soap dish so that it can air dry in between uses.
- Remove botanical toppings prior to use.
- Don't allow your soap to sit in a puddle of water.
- Use a wash cloth, loofah or soap saver bag to extend the life of your soap bar.
- Use your soap bar within one year of purchase. I know they're pretty to look at, but they're intended to be used so enjoy them! :)
- Store unused soap out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperature fluctuations and high humidity conditions.
- You may experience colored lather with dark or brightly colored bars; however, no permanent staining should occur.
- Discontinue use if irritation occurs
- Soaps are for external use only & are not edible
