Who hasn't fallen under the thrall of the stunning and vibrant tiger lily? It's a standout in the summer garden with its striking black spots and bold orange-to-salmon hues. In the language of flowers, tiger lilies represent confidence and pride, and convey success and prosperity. Tiger lillies are one of the oldest cultivated flowers in history and have adapted themselves to flourish without regard in practically any growing conditions, making them one of the most resilient flowers in existence. They are found randomly in the wild, on roadsides, and even cultivated gardens. Their unique beauty can be equally appreciated in both the manicured garden and the unkempt lazy garden.

We are so proud of the design of this beautiful soap! Intricate swirls, like this butterfly swirl, are never a given and surprises abound. The fairy magick was alive and flowing through our hands when we made this one! Delicate flower fairies appear throughout the batch, interspersed with butterflies, phoenixes, and whatever else you can imagine! The stunning swirls on top, sprinkled with the characteristic black spots of a tiger lily, make this soap a must-have in your Solstice soap collection!

We've scented this extraordinary soap in a sweet and sensual floral blend of green bergamot and zesty verbena, with soft and warm lily and sunflower notes atop a warm and earthy base of vetiver, sandalwood, amber and musk.

Now, of course, you know that Tiger Lily is also an integral character in J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan story, which is our theme for this product release. Barrie describes her as "a princess in her own right. The most beautiful of dusky Dianas and the belle of the Piccaninnies, coquettish, cold and amorous by turns." She is a close friend of Peter Pan's and deathly loyal to him, even being described as jealous of Tink's relationship with Pan. Sadly, the author's portrayal of this exotic and enigmatic Indigenous princess was typical of the times and was horribly stereotypical and outright racist. I'll give Disney props for attempting to reframe Tiger Lily and her people in a more authentic narrative in their live-action remake of 'Peter Pan and Wendy', but filmmakers still have a lot of progress to make to right the wrongs of the past. Don't we all?

Folklore: It was said that if you plant lilies in your garden it will keep your house free of ghosts and other unwanted intruders. Oberon, king of the fairies and elves was said to carry a lily as a magic wand. Each lily is said to have its own elf, who is born with it, lives in it and dies with it.
