Hook is a classic storybook villian - mercilessly cruel even to his own crew. Yet from the very beginning we are made to understand that Hook is a complex individual...not quite an ordinary pirate. His greatest viciousness is expressed via politeness, his eyes are an intelligent, “melancholy” blue, and he secretly longs to return to an ordinary, cultured life. Before the book began, Peter bested Hook in a sword fight by cutting off his right hand. As if that weren't bad enough, Peter fed the severed hand to the crocodile, inadvertently creating a monster with an insatiable taste for Hook's flesh that no one but the pirate captain can satisfy. In the climactic sword fight between Peter Pan and Captain Hook, the pirate has a moment when he wonders if the ferocious young Peter is a "fiend" rather than a real boy. Indeed...perhaps the true fiend in this story is the boy who will never grow up and lives in a world of eternal make-believe rather than the gentleman villian. 
 
Our Hook bar captures the captain's swashbuckling nature with a masculine palette and a slashed design atop the bar...dusted in gold glitter...cuz pirates and gold! ;) Hook is scented in one of our favorites - a bold, complex unisex blend of spice, tobacco and leather on a deep woodsy base. Arrgh! Ahoy matey!
