WHAT IS A GREEN WITCH?
The green witch works closely with nature and its gifts. She uses natural elements to improve the mind/body/spirit, as well as her environment, and has a personal, harmonious connection to the natural world she inhabits. She's aware of how the energy of nature flows through her life and environment. Green witchcraft is not a formal tradition or religion; it does not have an established body of practices or training nor is there any formal initiation. It is simply an innate connection to nature that includes awareness, understanding, a sense of responsibility and a guardianship of all life on Mother Earth. It is an intensely personal path that enriches both the life of the green witch herself AND celebrates the divinity of nature.
 
Our Green Witch botanical bar sings a green harmony that will appeal to all lovers of herbal magick! This bar starts out with an elderflower infusion. Each swirl in this rustic bar is made from a different herb, all beloved by the herb witch - nettle, comfrey, plantain, and mugwort - and all grown right here on our farm. A topping of black salt adds more than just a dramatic aesthetic. A true witch knows that black salt is inherently cleansing and useful in rituals and spellwork.  
 
Layers of bright, light and zesty lemon accords.... A heart of lemon verbena and herbaceous lemongrass are bolstered by sugared lemon zest for an uplifting and elegant juxtaposition to the bar's simplistic beauty. 
 
Notable properties of each herb*: 
Elderflower: Elder is a powerfully protective plant that is food, medicine, dye, and also poison. Known as the Elder Mother for her potent healing magick. Elder is said to be a gateway between realms and can be used to summon any number of creatures from beyond this plane, most notably fairies. 
Nettles: Stinging nettles are high on the list of beloved herbs for any herbalist or green witch. Have no fear of her but do respect her fearsome sting! Although she works hard to protect herself - if you've ever encountered her sting, you know what I mean! - she will also do the same for you with her bounty of vitamins, minerals, and medicinal uses. Nettles carries such strong positive energies that simply having her in your garden amplifies the properties of all other plants you grow. She can clear negativity and lift you up, leaving you feeling nurtured and loved. 
Comfrey: This powerful healer, aka boneset which speaks to its long-standing history as a bone healer. Its botanical name symphytum from the Greek symphyo "to unite" or "to grow together" not only refers to its bone-healing abilities but also its magickal ability to bind things to you - as in keeping your luggage from being lost while traveling or to keep money from leaving your possession.  
Mugwort: Known since antiquity as the "mother of all herbs", mugwort is considered one of the most sacred of all herbs. Mugwort is associated with dreaming and astral states and her energy aligns with moon magick. Her mild psychedelic effect can help one deepen their psychic practice and help you to receive messages through your dreams. 
Plantain: This humble plant is an iconic ally of the green witch. Its healing leaves are utilized around the world for skin healing of wounds, burns, itching, and more. Plantain is so easy to work with and so plentiful that even children can recognize and learn its medicine. 
 
 
MAKERS NOTE: We cannot promise, nor do we make any claims that our soap will provide you with any particular skin benefits. The science is still undecided on whether any botanical benefits survive the saponification process. We just hope that you enjoy the love and care that we pour into our soap!

Handcrafted soap will continue to evaporate water and lose weight over time. This makes for a finer, harder, and longer lasting bar.
