Introducing this year's Carolina Tiger Rescue benefit bar! Each year we thoughtfully craft a beautiful basket of goodies for CTR's annual Black Tie and Tails gala benefit, including a signature big-cat themed soap. We are in love with this year's bar - it's bold and bodacious....as any big cat we know!

So many times, it happens too fast
You trade your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger

-Eye of the Tiger, Survivor, 1982 (excerpt of lyrics)

The empowering lyrics of "Eye of the Tiger" offers a timeless message of resilience and determination in the face of adversity. No animal has been graced with a greater aura of power and majesty, both in myth and reality, than the iconic tiger. Ironically, it is this prodigious mantle of respect that is threatening to lead it down an inevitable path to extinction. All across their native range, tigers face unrelenting pressures from poaching, retaliatory killings, and habitat loss. It is estimated that tigers will be extinct in the wild by the end of the current decade. According to the World Wildlife Fund, nearly 97% of the world's tigers have been lost. Already today, more tigers are found in captivity in United States alone (about 5,000) than in the wild! Losing tigers would have profound and far-reaching implications for ecosystems, biodiversity, and human societies. Tigers play a crucial role in maintaining the health and balance of their ecosystems, and their extinction would have cascading effects on both natural and human systems. The question is therefore more crucial than ever: can we save wild tigers?

We may not have much control over the situation here in the U.S., but locally here in Pittsboro, we have one saving grace. The Carolina Tiger Rescue's mission is saving and protecting wild cats in captivity and in the wild. This incredible organization advocates for wild cats across the globe and educates the public on conservation efforts, environmental impacts, and animal welfare practices. If you haven't yet visited their certified non-profit wildlife sanctuary, hit that link and book a tour today!

Here at Solstice, we remain committed to do our small part in helping save the tigers. Our solemn pledge to you is that we continue to avoid the use of palm oil in our soaps and body products. Due to rampant demand for palm oil production, every hour, an area the size of 300 football fields is destroyed in many of the tigers' habitats. We refuse to take part in this widespread destruction of life.  In addition, every year we make a gift basket donation to CTR's annual Black Tie and Tails Ball silent auction to raise funds to support their efforts to save these majestic cats. We encourage you to help us help save the tigers!

Eye of the Tiger's aromatic palette embraces the lush green notes of a mountain forest. Airy top notes of ozone and green florals aloft on a heart of eucalyptus, fir and moss. It's forest bathing in the most literal sense!
